Common Touch Sensor Technologies
Common touch sensor technologies include resistive, surface capacitive, surface acoustic wave, 3MTM Dispersive Signal Technology (bending wave), projected capacitive, Infra-Red and optical. Each type of sensor technology has a method of construction, which is the method in which the touch sensor is applied to the display. It is as important, perhaps even more, to understand the construction method used than the technology, because it is the construction method that determines what type of touch sensor technology can be applied in any touch display solution. Find out more about contruction methods here.
